When Paul uses the phrase “in Christ” such as in Ephesians 1:3, does it function as a Locative relationship to the anchor phrase “who has blessed us”? If that is the case, why would it not have a Context relationship? What is the difference between the location and the sphere?

    Thanks

Hey Brent, this article has been helpful to read, especially seeing how you tracked down Paul’s flow of thought. Though there was one part I don’t quite understand. In connecting verse 2 with verse 3-5 as a ground you said “We are to fulfil Christ’s law by bearing each other’s burdens, because we only deserve commendation when we carry out our responsibilities.” I don’t understand how the ground clause functions. If we turn it around I don’t understand the logical connection; we only deserve commendation when we carry out our responsibilities, therefore bear one another’s burdens.
